Member import

Bring your members across. Their payments cannot come with them

Everything else does — names, tiers, join dates, paid-through dates. We lead with the bad news because every platform faces it and only some say so.

Your members, your list

In short

Can I move my members to Tribearn?

Yes. Tribearn imports members from Patreon, Substack, Kajabi, Gumroad, Teachable, Memberful, Mighty Networks or any CSV, after a dry run that shows every row before anything is written. Tiers and dates come across; payments cannot, because no platform can transfer a payment mandate, so each member re-subscribes once. The Free plan is ₹0 a month and takes 10% of each sale; Starter (₹499 a month), Growth (₹1,499) and Scale (₹3,999) lower that to 5%, 3% and nothing.

What you can sell

The honest version of moving a paid audience

Migrating members is not really a data problem. The data is a CSV and CSVs are easy. The problem is that their billing lives at your old platform and cannot be handed over, so what you are actually deciding is how to ask a few hundred people to pay you again without losing them.

Eight sources, one wizard

Whatever your old platform exports, it probably fits.

  • Patreon, Substack, Kajabi, Teachable
  • Gumroad, Memberful, Mighty Networks
  • Or any CSV or TSV file
  • Columns matched for you automatically

A dry run that really is dry

Validated on the server. Nothing written until you commit.

  • Every row checked before anything happens
  • See what would be created and skipped
  • Bad dates and bad rows flagged
  • Walk away with nothing changed

You decide what happens to renewals

Four options, with their costs stated plainly.

  • Honour what they already paid for
  • Give everyone a fixed window
  • Ask everyone to subscribe now
  • Or give them free access forever

They land in a real membership

Not a contact list — an actual tier with actual access.

  • Mapped onto your tiers
  • Join and expiry dates preserved
  • Member pricing applies immediately
  • Gated content opens straight away

Then bill them properly

The reason most Indian creators are moving in the first place.

  • UPI AutoPay, cards, eMandate/NACH
  • Charged in rupees
  • Settled to your bank account
  • GST invoicing from Starter upwards

Import once, keep the list

The members who come across are your contacts from then on — reachable by email, priced by tier, and not dependent on a platform deciding what your audience sees.

In detail

How the import works, and what it cannot do

The dry run

Finding out before, not after

The failure everyone fears is committing four hundred members with the dates parsed wrong and no way back. The dry run exists so that cannot happen: the whole file is validated server-side and reported back to you, and nothing is written until you decide.

Validated on the server
Not a preview of your spreadsheet — the same code path that will do the work, run without writing.
Row by row
What would be created, what is already here and would be skipped, and what looks wrong enough to need you.
Dates are the usual culprit
Pick day-first, month-first, year-first or automatic, so 05/06/2026 means what you think it means.
Re-running is safe
Rows that already came across are a no-op. You will not double up members or stack their access.

Renewals

Four ways to handle the money, and what each costs you

This is the real decision in any migration, and it is a judgement about your relationship with your members rather than a setting. All four are offered with the downside written next to them, because picking the wrong one quietly is how a migration loses people.

Honour what they already paid for
Access stays active until the paid-through date from your old platform, then expires normally. Nothing is given away and nobody is cut off — recommended where your export has dates.
Give everyone a fixed window
Access runs a set number of days from today. Use it when your export has no renewal date, accepting that some members lose time they already paid for.
Ask everyone to subscribe now
Members arrive without access until they subscribe here. Cleanest billing, worst retention — only sensible once your old platform has stopped charging.
Give them free access forever
Access never expires and is never charged for. An honest gift, and a permanent loss of revenue from those members.

Member migration FAQs

Which platforms can I import from?

Patreon, Substack, Kajabi, Teachable, Gumroad, Memberful and Mighty Networks have their columns recognised automatically. Anything else works too, as long as you can export a CSV or TSV — you map the columns yourself and the rest is identical.

What actually comes across?

Names, email addresses, which tier someone was on, when they joined and what date they are paid through, where your export includes those. That is enough to recreate their access exactly. What cannot come is the payment mandate itself.

Will my members’ payments carry over?

No — and nobody can do this, so be wary of anyone who says otherwise. A mandate (UPI AutoPay, a card, or eMandate/NACH) is a contract between your member’s bank and the platform that took it; there is no export format and no legal way to move it. Their access, tier and dates all come across intact, but the next charge has to be re-authorised by them. You choose how that is handled.

Can I see what will happen before it happens?

Yes, and you should. The dry run validates every row on the server and shows you exactly what would be created, what would be skipped and what looks wrong — without writing anything. Nothing is committed until you say so.

What does it cost to move?

Nothing to arrive. The Free plan is ₹0 a month for as long as you want it and takes 10% of what you sell. Paid plans start at ₹499 a month and cut that to 5%, 3%, or nothing at all.

What if I run the import twice by mistake?

A re-run is a no-op for rows that already came across — it does not duplicate members or stack their access. That behaviour was checked against the real database rather than assumed.
