Migrate from Gumroad

Bring your Gumroad customers across and sell in rupees

A Gumroad export is a customers list — mostly people who bought once rather than subscribers on a plan. That makes the move simpler than a membership migration, and changes what you should do with them afterwards.

In short

Can I move from Gumroad to Tribearn?

Yes. Tribearn imports your Gumroad customers as members from Gumroad’s customers export, after a dry run that shows every row before anything is written, and you keep selling digital products priced and paid in rupees. The Free plan is ₹0 a month and takes 10% of each sale; Starter (₹499 a month), Growth (₹1,499) and Scale (₹3,999) lower that to 5%, 3% and nothing.

What you can sell

A buyer list is a different thing from a subscriber list

Most Gumroad exports are people who paid once for a file. There is usually no recurring mandate to worry about, which removes the hardest part of migrating — but it also means these are contacts to sell to again rather than members with access to preserve.

Customers imported as members

Your buyer list becomes an audience you can reach.

  • Customers export recognised
  • Emails validated on the way in
  • Duplicates skipped
  • Map them onto a tier, or none

Keep selling the same products

Files delivered automatically, same as before.

  • Presets, templates, eBooks, packs
  • Delivered on payment
  • Member pricing per tier
  • Sold beside everything else

Turn buyers into members

The upgrade a one-off store cannot make for you.

  • Monthly and yearly tiers
  • Member-only products and drops
  • Renews automatically
  • Recurring instead of one-off

Priced in rupees

And paid the way Indian buyers actually pay.

  • UPI, cards, netbanking
  • UPI AutoPay for subscriptions
  • Settled to your bank account
  • GST invoicing from Starter upwards

Dry run before anything moves

Validated server-side, committed only when you say.

  • Every row checked first
  • Created / skipped / needs-a-look
  • Safe to re-run
  • Nothing written until you commit

A store, a membership and a list in one place

The customers you built on Gumroad become an audience you own — able to buy the next product, join a tier, or take a course, all from one link that settles to your bank.

In detail

What a customers export means for the move

Buyers vs members

The easiest migration, and the biggest missed opportunity

Because most Gumroad customers bought once, there is rarely a live mandate to replace — the part that makes a Patreon move delicate mostly does not apply. The interesting question is what you do next: a buyer list sitting idle is the most common unrealised asset a digital seller has.

Usually no mandate to move
One-off buyers have nothing recurring to re-authorise, so the hard part of migrating is absent.
They arrive as members
Imported as people you can reach and price for, not just names on a receipt.
Then offer them a tier
Member pricing on your products gives a one-off buyer a concrete reason to subscribe.
Anything recurring still needs re-authorising
If you did sell subscriptions on Gumroad, those mandates cannot transfer either — same rule as everywhere.

If you had subscribers

The four options, for the ones who were on a plan

Most Gumroad migrations do not need this section. If part of your list was subscribed rather than one-off, these are the same four choices every migration faces, with their costs stated.

Honour what they already paid for
Access stays active until the paid-through date from your old platform, then expires normally. Nothing is given away and nobody is cut off — recommended where your export has dates.
Give everyone a fixed window
Access runs a set number of days from today. Use it when your export has no renewal date, accepting that some members lose time they already paid for.
Ask everyone to subscribe now
Members arrive without access until they subscribe here. Cleanest billing, worst retention — only sensible once your old platform has stopped charging.
Give them free access forever
Access never expires and is never charged for. An honest gift, and a permanent loss of revenue from those members.

Gumroad migration FAQs

What does the Gumroad export contain?

A customers list — the people who have bought from you. Its columns are recognised automatically on upload, and you map anything unusual yourself before the dry run.

Do I have to put them on a membership tier?

No. You can bring customers in as members with no paid tier at all, which simply gives you a reachable audience. Putting them on a tier is an option, not a requirement.

Can I keep selling the same digital products?

Yes — presets, templates, eBooks and packs all work the same way, delivered automatically when someone pays. The difference is they sit beside your memberships, courses and events rather than on a separate store.

Will my members’ payments carry over?

No — and nobody can do this, so be wary of anyone who says otherwise. A mandate (UPI AutoPay, a card, or eMandate/NACH) is a contract between your member’s bank and the platform that took it; there is no export format and no legal way to move it. Their access, tier and dates all come across intact, but the next charge has to be re-authorised by them. You choose how that is handled.

Can I see what will happen before it happens?

Yes, and you should. The dry run validates every row on the server and shows you exactly what would be created, what would be skipped and what looks wrong — without writing anything. Nothing is committed until you say so.

What does it cost to move?

Nothing to arrive. The Free plan is ₹0 a month for as long as you want it and takes 10% of what you sell. Paid plans start at ₹499 a month and cut that to 5%, 3%, or nothing at all.

What if I run the import twice by mistake?

A re-run is a no-op for rows that already came across — it does not duplicate members or stack their access. That behaviour was checked against the real database rather than assumed.
